About Me!

My name is Karley Hughes. I was born and raised in Randleman, NC and moved to Raleigh, NC in 2023. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education in 2023. I started my teaching career in 2023 teaching 4th grade and quickly realized that I wanted to teach gifted students. I am currently studying at East Carolina University to get my Masters in Elementary Education with an AIG add-on for my teaching license.

 

I have 2 dogs, Ollie and Graham, who love to be outside all the time. I love spending time at the beach whenever possible, as well as travel. I did complete my student teaching in college abroad in Finland, which was a great experience!

I believe that students should have access to resources that pushes them to learn more. I enjoy allowing students to have more freedom in parts of their learning as well as making learning hands-on and fun for students to enjoy.  I believe that students also learn in a welcoming classroom, where relationships between student and teacher are a priority.
